Pre-Sales Architect Future Voice and Unified Communications

We are a highly respected Microsoft Gold Partner with multiple Advanced Specialisations and an extensive portfolio of high-profile clients that continues to grow. One of our missions is accelerating our Microsoft Teams Unified Communications practice, providing support and guidance to ensure clients are delighted with our services and providing them with future insights.

Due to continued growth, CPS is looking for an individual experienced in Microsoft Teams Unified Communications who will help turn ideas for technology-led change into a business reality. CPS has a flexible approach to working post-pandemic, and homeworking contracts are available.

The Role

Through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style, guided by the objectives of CPS, the Pre-Sales Architect will provide the Sales & Customer Success (CSU) community with the technical vision necessary to ensure that the customer is delighted by the tools and technologies CPS delivers.

You will be responsible for articulating CPS’ product and services portfolio, while working with the Sales and CSU teams to demonstrate and define appropriate solutions to meet customer requirement.

Your Responsibilities Will Include (and are not limited to):

  • Inspiring CPS’ customers – external and internal
  • Understanding customer challenges and providing outcomes that will delight
  • Being the initial owner of technical pre-sales requests, resolving and escalating as necessary
  • Manage and respond in a timely manner to incoming technical pre-sales requests
  • Provide Sales and CSU teams with technical pre-sales support
  • Support delivery of the technical aspects of proposals, providing technical input and validation
  • Work with CPS’ Technical Architect community when deep technical support is required
  • Build and deliver ‘art of the possible’ demonstrations to support pre-sales engagement where required
  • Be capable of delivering validation / proof-of-concept activity where required
  • Confidently deliver presentations and demonstrations to customers and prospects
  • Actively assist with proposition development & CPS’ product catalogue
  • Supplement the Delivery teams through chargeable engagements where required, such as delivering Microsoft Cloud Adoption (MCAP) workshops

Role experience

You will be an experienced technical Microsoft Unified Communications expert with excellent consultative skills able to communicate with all levels and areas of an organisation.

  • Have previously designed, engineered, and implemented reliable and robust Unified Communications solutions based on either Microsoft Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams 
  • A self-starter, keen to further develop both their personal and the company’s knowledge and skillset, with a ‘make it happen’ attitude
  • Have a proven commercial awareness enabling the individual to grow the relationship with a client and identify new opportunities
  • The ability to manage your time to ensure that all activities are delivered to high quality, on time and within budget
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering projects based on a range of Microsoft UC and 3rd party technologies to a broad client base, ensuring that the solution takes into consideration technical strategy, successful adoption, long-term sustainability, and commercial awareness
  • Demonstrable experience of ensuring that solutions are designed to the highest level and meet the expectations of clients in every respect
  • Broad knowledge of solution delivery patterns and practices, application lifecycle management approaches, with experience gained through all phases, from design, development, test and release cycle, to delivery and maintenance.

CPS has clients across the UK and travel is required at times, with occasional overseas assignments. This is balanced by an ability to work from home for some of the time.

Essential skills

This is a broad role – we are interested to understand your experience and what you can bring to the position. Demonstrable understanding in design, delivery, and implementation of Microsoft’s UC software applications: Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams, including:

  • Microsoft Teams, including:
    • Direct routing via Ribbon and AudioCodes media gateways
    • PSTN Calling plans and DDI enablement
  • Full enterprise in voice architecture scenarios including legacy PBX cross platform interoperability, to both Microsoft Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams
  • End to end deployment experience of on-premises, hybrid and Office 365 for UC
  • Active directory and Identity Management knowledge
  • 3rd party applications and interoperability including:
    • Ribbon SBC 1000, 2000, SWE and Ribbon azure media gateways
    • AudioCodes Mediant family of gateways.
    • Contact centre (Anywhere 365)
    • Call recording (Verint)
    • PCI compliance (PCI pal)
    • Call analytics (Clobba)
  • Microsoft Skype for Business 2015, 2019 and legacy Lync 2010, 2013
  • Microsoft Skype for Business Online including Microsoft calling plans

Desirable skills and qualifications

  • Skype for Business 2015 Core and Enterprise certification
  • Windows 2012/2016 Server certification
  • 3rd Party vendors:
    • Ribbon Gateway – accreditation
    • AudioCodes Gateway – accreditation
    • Contact Centre (Anywhere 365) – desirable
    • SIP/ISDN/PSTN in depth knowledge – desirable
  • Knowledge of legacy PBX and telephony estates including Cisco call manager, Avaya, and Mitel
  • Zoom
